Almond Glazed Cake
 


To Print out only the recipe highlight it with your mouse, right click on the highlighted recipe.  Choose the option PRINT. Change the Print Range from ALL to SELECTION. Press the PRINT button on the screen.


Almond Glazed Cake

2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter or margarine

Beat eggs and sugar until thick and pale. Beat in vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture and mix to blend. Scald milk in a small saucepan. Add butter, stirring until melted. Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Mixing fast enough to blend. Pour batter into a greased 8 inch springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees until top of cake is well browned, about 35 minutes. Spread topping light and evenly over cake. Loosen edges and remove pan sides.

ALMOND TOPPING:
In a small pan, mix 1/4 cup butter or margarine, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup sliced almonds, 2 teaspoon flour, and 2 tablespoons milk. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring. Spread over warm cake.
