Nancy, please tell me
how to get back pages of the newsletter. I am trying to find
the Black Angus Cheesy Garlic Bread
that was in the June 14th, page 1.
Thank you in advance. Phyllis
The
newsletter has an index.
Under the current month there are listed newsletter archives
for 2005 and 2006. If you are wanting a newsletter in
June 2006 you would click on the link for that month
then click on the date you are searching for

Nancy:
I searched Google for the address and info for the $1 Swans
Down cookbook (called "Celebrate the Seasons") mentioned in
a recent newsletter. I suspect it may no longer available,
since no information was returned. During the
search, I discovered a site for "Used and Rare Books,
Periodicals, and Paper Ephemera". The link is
http://www.tomfolio.com/
If you have room in an
upcoming newsletter, please post if you can (edit as
necessary...I understand you get a lot of email). Thanks,
Angie in N. Ala.

This site has lots and lots of cookbooks. Did have many

For Beth in WV looking
for the Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream cookies. I tried this
recipe I found on
recipezaar. It tastes
EXACTLY like the packaged cookies!
Cookies
1 cup margarine
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 tbsp. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1-1/2 cups quick oats
Cream Filling
2 tsps. Very hot water
1/4 tsp salt
1 (7oz) jar marshmallow cream
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
In large bowl cream margarine, sugars, molasses, vanilla and
eggs. Combine flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Add to
the creamed mixture. Mix in the oats. Drop dough by tbsp on
ungreased sheets. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until
just starting to brown around the edges. They will look
moist but don’t overcook.
While the cookies bake, prepare the filling. In small bowl,
dissolve the salt in the hot water. Allow this to cool.
Combine marshmallow cream, shortening, powdered sugar and
vanilly\a in bowl and mix on high until fluffy. Add the
cooled salt water and mix well. Spread filling on flat side
of one cool cookie and press a 2nd cool cookie on top.

For Betty in MD, I found
a recipe for Amish Whoopies here:
www.amishrecipes.net
I had never heard of them but they sound delicious so I
think I will try them.
Here is my recipe for Homemade Bologna
3 pounds lean hamburger
3 tablespoons Morton's Tender Quick Salt
1 cup water
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 - 1/2 teaspoons Liquid Smoke
Mix well. Roll into 2 rolls. Wrap in plastic wrap; put in
refrigerator 24 hours. If I have some empty Pringles Potato
Chip cans, I put the mixture in 2 of them, then refrigerate.
Put on greased pan. Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees F, turning
meat once halfway through baking time. Delicious.

Hi Nancy and furry
friends! This is in response to the people that were asking
for whoopie pie recipes. I recently joined Recipezaar, and I
found a ton of recipes on there for these. Here is one that
I copied from that site.
www.recipezaar.com
These are fantastic. This recipe is from a small business
owner in Maine. She sells many variations on her website at
www.wickedwhoopies.com. This recipe was published on a
local television website when she appeared on it
and made them.
